Jurnee Smolett (The Great Debaters) is the youngest member on the board of Artists for a New South Africa. The US Embassy just hosted her visit to Botswana and Swaziland, South Africa where she gave talks to young girls about body image, safe sex and HIV.
(n): This is great news. I am feeling a little shown up...this is what I need to be doing. I think it's great that those who are able to give more are giving more. I hope that more celebrities especially those of African decent will come to acknowledge the need that is in our mother land. Granted we have needs yet to be met in the US, but they are quite trivial in my opinion to those outside of the US. I think everyone should acquaint themselves with the ways they can contribute to the efforts taking place outside of our boarders...
